Where is this file, on server or client ?

MS Office Excel version? 97-2003? 2010?
But when i am trying to read when it stops in between and tooks so much time. >
Are you running the form on the server or through the Form Builder?
the Excel file is on the server.
I am using excel 2007.
I am running the form through the form builder..
Is this a onetime import? If so, it may be easier to save the excelsheet as csv-file and then import that using TEXT_IO.
Yes its one time import. But what is the problem with OLE2.Why it stops in between. And why is it too slow?

I am doing a migration for a client at the moment and using OLE2 though webutil on a Win7 client (Forms server is 11.1.2).
I'm seeing noticably slower performance compared to OLE2 calls from Forms6i.
any other way to read excel from oracle forms that is faster thn ole2 ???
it takes too much time to read my excel sheet(Above half an hour)Not acceptable.
can you convert the xls file to a comma delimited csv, then use sqlloader?
