if you want to restore tablespace using RMAN you should have valid backup :
recover tablespace <TBS-NAME> until time "to_date('DATE')";
Fran, I dont want to recover the whole db, just some tablespaces...
Osama, I think that feature is for Enterprise edition, also the destination db does not know of my backup files taken from source db.
Do you have any type of backup !!!!
I have a backup schedule to take daily full backups (twice) and hourly incremental backup. So yes, I have backup!
P.S: I also tried the following:
It's not an autobackup, why oracle thinks so?!
restore tablespace REG_DATA from 'temp_ERIS0_hjnru4ss_1_1.rman'; Starting restore at 03-DEC-12 using channel ORA_DISK_1 RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS =============== RMAN-00571: =========================================================== RMAN-03002: failure of restore command at 12/03/2012 12:10:36 RMAN-06509: only SPFILE or control file can be restored from AUTOBACKUP

You cannot directly restore the tablespace to another database. you could use COLD BACKUP or transportable tablespace features since you already use this one post how you did it , error
1.- RMAN> catalog start with '/.../.../.../your_backup';
2.- SQL> Create tablespace XXXXXX .....;
3.- RMAN> SQL 'ALTER TABLESPACE xxxxx OFFLINE IMMEDIATE';
4.- RMAN> RESTORE TABLESPACE xxxxx;
5.- RMAN> RECOVER TABLESPACE xxxxx;
6.- RMAN> SQL 'ALTER TABLESPACE xxxxx ONLINE';
