I have a database that has 5 corrupt blocks on it. It tuns out that we have no backup for this database.
I have done a bit of research and Ive used the DBMS_REPAIR to tell oracle to ignore these corrupt blocks and have rebuilt the index's involved.
The senior DBA has told me that there is another way to "format" the blocks so we don't lose as much data. He is away so I cant ask him. I have looked online and I am of the opinion it is not possible to restore any other way.
Can anyone tell me, is there a way to restore these corrupt blocks other than using a backup (i know !) or using the DBMS_REPAIR package.
-If this production database and you have senior DBA in your company how there's No backup for this database !! even if its DEV database seems you need some data in it which mean you should create RMAN JOB !!!! Just Explain this .
When you are used DBMS_REPAIR What is the output ?
