    How to rename an asset

    Philip Brown
I've tried a google search, and a forum search, but surprisingly come up empty.
How can you rename an asset?
The "edit" thingie only seems to allow changing of one thing: the description. not the name ? ! ?

Yes, the trick is to go to All Assets->Managed Asset tab, then find the asset and click on the pencil icon to edit it.

Err.. that's what I just referenced.. and I just said it doesnt work.
            that is to say, I:

            1. go to Assets tab.
            2. use the "All Assets" view.
            3. highlight my asset

At which point the dashboard tab, etc for the asset shows in center pane.
There is the little pencil(and paper) icon above it, with tooltip "Edit".

            4. I click on it... and it only lets me edit the DESCRIPTION.

I want to change the name.
The thing that shows up under "All Assets".

Right, and what I said was, or meant to say, or should have said more clearly, is select All Assets (*instead* of your #3 "highlight my asset").

In the middle screen you will see a "Managed Assets" tab. (where you would normally see the dashboard tab, etc.).

              Select "Managed Assets" tab.

Find your asset and click on the edit button. Then you can change the display name of that asset.

If I could figure out how to attach a picture to this post it would be crystal clear but I can't so sorry. :)
