    Unable to access DBA views

    $phinx19
      Hi All,

      OS:AIX
      DB: 10g

      When i am trying to access DBA views say:
      select * from dba_users;
      I am getting a error saying table or view does not exist even though i am able to describe dba_users and i am also abe to query V$ views.

      Need you inputs on this...

      Regards.

                did you check that you are writting it correctly? It's dba_users, no dbausers or dba-users. Be carefull.

                      Well it does happen a lot of times that when you check many times, you keep on missing something obvious. Since we can't see your screen, post here the steps that you are running with the output and we shall comment further looking at it.

                      Aman....

                            Is this new database created? check for component status in dba_registry

                            Looks like issue with synonyms

                            can you try

                            select * from sys.dba_users

                              Are you able to select from any other data dictionary views?

                              Can you execute
                              select * from dba_views where view_name='DBA_USERS';

                                Did you create your database manually ?

                                  Kind of odd looking, that Opatch on the path, and that ORACLE_HOME. Did you disguise things for posting?
