We are on Essbase and planning 126.96.36.199. We have one planning data form which is a large form and trying to submint the data copied from once excel sheet and paste it into data form take forever. the webform contains almost 4000 rows. Please help me to improve the performance of this data input.
Thanks in advance.
Dont suppose there is a Business Rule attached to the form which is set to run on save/submit and this is what is taking the time?
We have a form with 2000 rows and 52 columns (weekly) which is more cells than your form, and it probably takes approx 1 minute for submit....so an hour+ seems excessive.

But it might be that Jake's suggestion is the route to go.
Thanks for the reply. Basically we have 4000 stores and 13 colums for each accounting period. The data we copy from the source excel file and when try to paste is to the form while connect to smartview takes long time about 15 min, which use to take around 1 minute before. after this 15 min the data gets paste into the data form and we submit the data which takes around 3 secs which is ok.
But still dont know why it takes 15 min to paste the data in to data form while connected to the smart view?
I have tried it with the same thing and didnot make any difference. We have done this copy and paste things by few users and its all the same. they all facing about 15 mins of wait time for just pasting the data which use to take 2 min before.
I amy be talking nonsense here, but if this an operation you do repeatedly: ie you have some sheets which evaluate to a whole bunch of numbers with the same setup as your form, which you then copy and paste into your form and submit, then wouldn't it make more sense to pull your final data into the form by using excel formulas in the form cells? I mean, if this is a fixed operation that is repeated for the purpose of submitting the numbers it seems cleaner than manually copying it. You will need to have the form in another sheet to see the results though as the excelformulas override the content sent from planning.
I haven't tried it on a form of the scale you are taking about though. If anyone has tried this and it was a complete disaster let me know so I can learn from the experience :).
