Hi all,

I am starting to upgrade my EBS from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 then to 12.1.3 on AIX 6.1 Operating System in Test instance. Any advise steps and recommendations.

I've check the Doc: Oracle EBS Upgrade Guide Release 11i to 12.1.1 and I am facing below issue :

1) Do we must to upgrade the DB to 11g as the Oracle desupport issue or want to reduce downtime?
2) Do I need apply 11i.AD.I.7 and 11.ATG_PF.H.Rup7 patches first?
3) And do I need to convert the application/DB to Multiple Organizations before upgrade? Any guideline?
4) There is no any customization, how much downtime can you experience?

The below is our system configurations :

Server : AIX 6.1 (Test instance / Prod. instance) - Single node
DB : 10.2.0.3.0 (non RAC)
APPS : 11.5.10.2 (non multi-org) :
- use Financial (GL, AP, AR, FA) only
- The lastest applied patchsets:
11i.ATG_PF.H CU2
11i.AD.I.4
11i.BNE.C
11i.FRM.F
11i.OAM.H

Forms 6.0 (Form Compiler) Version 6.0.8.27.0 (Production)
PL/SQL Version 8.0.6.3.0 (Production)
Oracle Procedure Builder V6.0.8.21.0 Build #0 - Production
Oracle Virtual Graphics System Version 6.0.5.39.0 (Production)
Oracle Multimedia Version 6.0.8.25.0 (Production)
Oracle Tools Integration Version 6.0.8.17.0 (Production)
Oracle Tools Common Area Version 6.0.5.32.0
Oracle CORE Version 4.0.6.0.0 - Production

Server version: Oracle HTTP Server Powered by Apache/1.3.19 (Unix)
Server built: Mar 25 2005 15:40:05 (iAS 1.0.2.2.2 rollup 5)

mult-org not enabled
select multi_org_flag from apps.fnd_product_groups;
--> N

I found below the list of docs, any advise steps and recommendations? And please suggest me which of the below document I need to follow?

    You can determine the downtime unless you try it yourself on an instance with a hardware that is close to your production instance.

    Hi Hussein,

    Thanks for the reply again.

    I just finished to execute "convert to Multi-Org" (~8hrs), but I wanted to make sure, do I need to execute "Convert to Multiple Reporting Currencies" ?

    (Before)
    Maintain Applications Database Entities
    -------------------------------------------------
    1. Validate APPS schema
    2. Re-create grants and synonyms for APPS schema
    3. Maintain multi-lingual tables
    4. Check DUAL table
    5. Convert to Multiple Reporting Currencies
    6. Convert to Multi-Org
    7. Return to Main Menu

    (After)
    Maintain Applications Database Entities
    -------------------------------------------------
    1. Validate APPS schema
    2. Re-create grants and synonyms for APPS schema
    3. Maintain multi-lingual tables
    4. Check DUAL table
    5. Convert to Multiple Reporting Currencies
    6. Return to Main Menu

    SQL>select multi_org_flag from apps.fnd_product_groups;
    Y

    Thanks again for your help.

    No.
    SQL>select multi_org_flag from apps.fnd_product_groups;
    Y
    This indicates that Multi-Org is enabled.

    Hi Hussein,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

    I found the following docs.
    a) EBS: R12.1 Oracle Financials Recommended Patch Collection (RPC) [ID 954704.1]
    - EBS Consolidated Upgrade Patch - Feb 2010 and Financials Pre-Upgrade Patches - April 2011
    b) Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report [Video] [ID 1448102.1]
    - Installing the Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report

    I want to ask, do I need to apply a+b patches and when to apply the above Pre-Upgrade Patches ? After installed 12.1.1 ?

    - After view the Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report, do I also need to apply the following patches?
    (JG) Regional Localizations
    (XLE) Legal Entity Configurator

    Thanks again

    Apply those patches after you are done with the final upgrade (12.1.1 or 12.1.3).
    - After view the Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report, do I also need to apply the following patches?
    (JG) Regional Localizations
    (XLE) Legal Entity Configurator
    If you use those modules (check with your business users to verify), then apply the patches. If not, you can skip them.

    Thanks,

    Hi Hussein,

    Many thanks to Hussein for help.

    I want to apply 11.ATG_PF.H.Rup7 patchset, but the Pre-Requisite patches is patch#4206794 (FRM: Patch 11i.FRM.H).
    Then I got ad worker error when apply patch#4206794 (FRM: Patch 11i.FRM.H), I found we did not install or active the Oracle Report Manager(FRM), so do I need to apply patch#4206794 (FRM: Patch 11i.FRM.H) before applying 11.ATG_PF.H.Rup7? Or do I need to active/install the Oracle Report Manager(FRM)? Any license is need?

    There are warnings in adworker log

    ===== Index FRM_USER_VALUE_MAPPINGS_UK1 all columns match.
    *******************************************************
    The database is missing the table FRM_ARCHIVED_LOBS.
    Create it with the statement(s):

    Warning: Object "FRM_ARCHIVED_LOBS" is not registered in table "FND_OBJECT_TABLESPACES".
    .....
    Warning: Object "FRM_REQSET_PUB_OPTIONS" is not registered in table "FND_OBJECT_TABLESPACES".

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    On 11i, I'm applying a patch#6241631 (11i.ATG_PF.H.delta.7 - RUP7),

    What can I do right now that will help?

    Is the number of invalid objects changing? If yes, then let the script run until it is done with the compilation.

    Can you find any errors in the database log file?

    Please see these docs.
