    Solaris 11.1 pkg output

    Raghu Suresh
      Hi All,

On Solaris 11.1, if the publisher is to pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release, I see the following output:

      root@sun1:~# pkg list -afv entire
      FMRI IFO
      pkg://solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- i--
      pkg://solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- ---
      pkg://solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- ---
      pkg://solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- ---

When I create a local repository, I see the following output:

      root@sun1:~# pkg publisher
      solaris origin online F http://localhost:7000/

      root@sun1:~# pkg list -afv entire
      FMRI IFO
      pkg://solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- i--

I get an error when I try to install Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Centre 12c.

      root@sun1:/var/tmp/OC/xvmoc_full_bundle# ./install
Verifying we can reach the solaris IPS repository.
This may take a couple of minutes if it is not currently reachable.
      solaris IPS publisher is reachable
      Error: //solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- not found in
      solaris IPS repository

The Error is documented in the following MOS note:

OPS Center 12c Installation Fails With Error:
      //solaris/entire@0.5.11,5.11- Not Found [ID 1470879.1]

I followed the instructions but it doesn't seem to solve the problem.

The issue is also documented in Release Notes:

Under the section: Using Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center With Oracle Solaris 11.1

Please let me know if there is a fix to this problem.

The output from the pkg list -afv for your local repository shows that it only has the final build of Oracle Solaris 11.1. What you need to do is either populate your local repository with the Oracle Solaris 11 11/11 packages or use the Oracle repositories. Probably the easiest way is to set up your own local repository by downloading the ISO image from the http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/downloads/index.html. Note increment ISO images for the bug fixes are available in MOS as well.

          Hope that helps,
