After Changing the Applications User Password, Login to Discoverer Fails with Invalid Username.What application user password have you changed?
Did you use FNDCPASS?
But from desktop edition, it is giving invalid username password.Please post the command you issues to change the password.
It was working fine before changing password.
We are using IAS 10.1.2.3 for Discoverer .
I thought the issue is with the dbc file used for discoverer, but it has correct values.This should return Y -- How To Successfully Change The Guest Password In E-Business Suite 11.5.10 and R12 [ID 443353.1]
Is there any relation for the below output with this issue?
SQL> select fnd_web_sec.validate_login('GUEST',' ') from dual ;
Recently we have changed the password rules by setting below profile options,
1.Enable “Hard to Guess”
2. Ensure that Sign on Length is a minimum of 8 characters
3. Enable no reuse
5.Changed password expiration using below procedure
SET SERVEROUTPUT ON
CURSOR c_users IS
SELECT user_id, user_name, description
WHERE NVL(end_date, SYSDATE+1) > SYSDATE;
l_count := 0;
IF c_users%ISOPEN THEN
FETCH c_users INTO l_user_rec;
EXIT WHEN c_users%NOTFOUND;
l_count := l_count+1;
(x_user_name => l_user_rec.user_name
,x_owner => ''
,x_password_lifespan_days => 60);
dbms_output.put_line ('Total Number of users updated is: ' ||l_count) ;
To test this script, we changed the password lifespan days to 3, after changing the passwords
it is not working.
kkrm333 wrote:Can you please roll back "Changed password expiration using below procedure" and see if it works then?
To test the password expire script, we changed this option only for few users.
The users whose password is not changed are working fine for discoverer.
The issue is only for those users who changed their password when password expired.
I tried by changing it using FNDCPASS, but didn't work.
Before posting this issue in forums I have followed the m note Note 399449.1 - After Changing the Applications or SSO User Password, Login to Discoverer Fails with Invalid Username/Password Error and upgraded our IAS version from 10.1.2.0.2 to AS 10.1.2.3 by applying patch 5983622 and CP10 patch 11674847 . But didn't work.
Please check if i did any mistake in applying the upgrade patch.
From 5983622 readme i have followed the step
7.1.5 Apply the OracleAS 10g Release 2 Patch Set 3 Software Update step only.
As we don't have any metadata repository i skipped the next step.
