      Hi,

Can any one tell me if there is a way we can create / write calc scripts or formulas in Essbase Studio 11.1.1.2

please detail the procedure if possible.

      Thanks,
      Saleem.

Create calc scripts in EAS or Calc Manager.

          Cheers

John is correct; you cannot create calc scripts in Essbase Studio.
You can create member formulas in Essbase Studio, but calc scripts are meant to be created in EAS. Studio is for building outlines and loading data.

                Thanks John /Dave

we still have a formula tab in the Essbase properties of Studio. Can you please let me know how this tab is helpful.

For an ASO cube can we use this formula tab to write functions or measure calculations as we do in EAS.

Formula tab does say about Calc scripts to be carried on Dynamic hierarchies, i was just curious to use this but never succeed.

                Thanks,
                Saleem.

The formula tab allows you to create formulas on specific members within the outline not calc scripts. For the Formula tab to be helpful it is really used on user defined members of a hierarchy (like a scenario varaince) or from an external source associated with specific members.
