The faster the processor, the more the memory and disk space, the better. You will need an multi-core i5 or i7 processor, at least 6G of RAM (8G or more is preferable) and at least 500G (1TB preferable) of disk. If you are going to use Win 7 as your OS, you will need to install a Linux VM and install EBS in the Linux VM. Pl se my blog (linked in my profile) on the detailed steps for the VM and EBS installs.

          Hardware requirements are documented

Your config seems good but it could be better to go wiht i7 processor. Your RAM also can be increased. Those are make avaliable to use R11 or R12 .

You need to extra HD(external one)...500 g could be problem, So I suggest
            1. Download OEL linux from edelivery which is free
            2. Create VM machine on your laptop and give 2 G ram(If your ram is 4g) or give 4G ram(If your ram is 6 g)
            3. Use your external disk(I suggest 1T disk)Install OEL linux so your WM machine will run on externdal disk
            4. Download setup to your external disk(I suggest 1T disk)
            5. Install ebs to your external disk

I would not recommend installing 11i at this time and your choice would be R12 (12.1.1) -- You may upgrade to 12.1.3 later if you want.

For the hardware specifications, please make sure you have at leave 8 GB RAM.

For the disk space, the total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 85 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 233 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database. For the stage area directory (where you will run the installer from), you need at least 47 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.

Please note that Windows 7 is not certified and you cannot manage to install R12 on this OS. So, your options here would be installation a VM and have a supported OS (Windows/Linux).
