TNS-12502: TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA from client

Hi,

I am getting this error since 2 or 3 days "TNS-12502: TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA from client". I have checked my tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files, bot are fine with correct CONNECT_DATA.

I have set the parameter to SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT in sqlnet.ora on client machine but i am not very much sure where should i put this parameter on client machine or server machine?

Please advice me to solve this error...

Regards,
Puneet Pradhan

most likely cause is buggy client code.
I saw this from flawed Java code.

listener.log will contain this error & show originating client

In $ORACLE_HOME/network/log/listener.log you should be able to see which client is throwing this error...

If you unplug this client, then errors will no longer be logged to the DB Server.

The client is doing bad thing.
Change client to provide all necessary details to connect successfully to the DB.
