Documaker 12.1 ODEE Installation and Configuration

    978409
      Hi,

We are in the process of building out a sandbox environment for ODEE 12.1

      - windows XP
      - Oracle 11g
      - WebLogic

On the App Server, following are installed:

      1. WebLogic Server
      2. soa_server
      These are created in base_domain

Then we installed ODEE and went through the post installation steps which created another instance of
      adminserver (weblogic)
      dmkr_server
      idm_server

      in idocumaker_domain

When I tried to start the dmkr_server from idocumaker_domain, it does not start.

Please comment if they all need to be in the same domain, specially soa_server.

How do we configure the soa_server to work in idocumaker_domain?

Looking for advise as this is the very first time, we are trying to configure the ODEE 12.1 on windows.

      Regards,
      Prashant

Can you provide the console output from stdout that shows dmkr_server not starting?

Part of the installation includes the deployment of the approval rules (which use SOA components). This will create a managed WebLogic server in the idocumaker_domain, called soa_server1. This is different from the soa_server which is in your base_domain. When you follow the instructions from the ODEE 12.1 Installation Guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22582_01/documaker_enterprise_ig.pdf) on page 25, you should have a pre-configured SOA server that is ready to work with ODEE.

You should, after a successful installation, be able to see the following servers in the idocumaker domain using the WLS console website. These servers should be in the same domain.

          AdminServer
          dmkr_server
          idm_server
          soa_server1

The domain has applications that are deployed to one or more of these servers. You can view these by clicking Deployments in the Domain Structure tree in the WLS console. You can redeploy an applications to one server if you like, by clicking the application in the Deployments view, selecting the Targets tab and then checking the desired server targets. I generally put all the apps into one server for a dev environment so I need only start one server (AdminServer).

            Thanks Andy,

I re-did all over again and used the Admin Server and soa_server1 from the idocumaker_domain and application did start up successfully.

            Thanks for your help.

              Hi Andy,

I moved the server components to a windows 2008 server R2 Standard. Initially my colleague started the servers and then I used my credentials to start the Admin server and its failing on a single sign on failure to authenticate from the wallet.

I have attached the full log:

                Prashant,

During creation of WebLogic domains, the WLS scripts write certain files with very specific user permissions. As you no-doubt have learned, this file is one of those. You have a few choices:

                1. Best Practice Create a separate user account specifically for WebLogic. Install and run WebLogic using this account. You will need to redeploy your Documaker domain using this account.
                2. Change the file permissions of this specific file +(C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\idocumaker_domain\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\cwallet.sso)+ so that any account wishing to run WLS has read permissions to this file.
                3. Use NodeManager to manage WLS domains and servers (on Windows system this installs by default with the System Account which will alleviate this access problem).

For your purposes, you can use option 2, but strategically you should opt for item 1.

Thanks Andy for your prompt response. I used option 2 to make it work for now.

I will have more questions as we work through configuring a MRL to work with EE (docfactory) and other associated tasks.

                  Truly appreciate your help.

                    Hi Andy,

I have the sample correspondence environment built out. I ran the test extract from hotfolder and it was identified and scheduled. However, I don't see anything in DI. I am using 'documaker' user to login. I used the scripts that came with installation to create the DMRES MRL under the DMKR_ASLINE schema. I also created the user_groups and users using the scripts.

I can bring up DI successfully, however nothing shows in my assignment from the transactions that were processed from hotfolder.

I can create a new document in DI and select one of the exiting forms from the DMRES MRL, however WIPEDIT Plugin throws errors while trying to launch the DPW file. I do have WipEdit Plugin installed locally on my PC.

Do you have any insight as to what could have gone wrong? If possible I would like to discuss this over a phone call.

As I am figuring it all out while learning through the documentations, I feel a quick call will immensely help. Please let me know. I can make it official through PD (Bob Stienke and Srini) if that is needed.

                    Thanks in advance,
                    Prashant

                      calittle - oracle
                      Hi Prashant,

                      Some things to check:

                      1) Check your dashboard and investigate the job status codes. You may have to dig deeper and look at transaction or batch status codes. You should see that some complete to 999 status, and some should be at other status codes (221, I think) - those should be ones that you can find in DI.

                      2) Not all of the extracts that come with the correspondence MRL will need to be processed in DI - some of them do not require user intervention. Take all of the extracts in the documaker\mstrres\dmres\input directory and copy them into the hot directory - some should complete to 999, others will be waiting for you in DI.

                      3) Is the Docupresentment service running? You'll need this to get WIPEDIT to work properly. The Docupresentment service is installed along with ODEE in the documaker/docupresentment directory - run docserver.sh start on *nix, or look for the Windows service called "Docupresentment DMKR_ASLINE" and start it.

                      4) Did you access the localhost:7001/wlsjpsquery app? this is covered in the instructions as something you have to do once; it's easy to overlook.

You can email me at andy.little@oracle.com and we can discuss that possibilities of phone consultation.
