    Thanks again...

    While running utlrip.sql in "startup upgrade" am getting below error.

    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 52 with name
    "_SYSSMU52_1374903712$" too small

    I hv followed the below procedure.

    1 - Install 11gR2->example->export new env->create 9i directory->additional patches

    2 - copy DB files,pfile and recreate control file with SET

    3 - SQL> Alter database open resetlogs

    4 - shu immediate->startup upgrade -> @utlrip.sql

    Please suggest me how I can resolve this.

    Thanks,

    Hussein...

    Issue fixed. I have forgot to create temp file after the control file creation. I ran again the same successfully after the control file creation.

    Now utlrp.sql is running...

    Normally how much time this will run ? it is running almost 5 hour and only 40000 objects compiled so far out of 330146 , and I can see the number of the number of objects compiled is increasing...but I am feeling slowness... Is it an expected behaviour during migration? .

    Thanks,

    It depends on the number of invalid objects you have -- Difference between UTLRP.SQL - UTLIRP.SQL - UTLIP.SQL? [ID 272322.1]

    It is normal to take that long and it is normal to see the numbers of objects compiled increasing.

    Thanks Hussein,

    It is running almost 21 hours and only 101000 objects compiled so far out of 330146. What could be the reason for this slowness .... utlrp.sql depend on the HW specification like adpatch in apps and pfile parameters? My SGA is 1 GB only

    I think this will take another 1.5 day to complete if it go like this and my concern is, while doing in production,this will affect the downtime period.

    Please suggest what I can do here.

    Thanks,

    Pl identify the number of parallel workers you are using for the recompile. If you have used only one, this will take some time depending on your hardware resources and database SGA parameters.

    Where Can I Find the Parallel Version of Utlrp.sql? [ID 230136.1]

    Thanks Srini for the note.

    My utlrp.sql script completed and it took 26 hrs to complete. I have realized that at some stage it took 15-20 minutes to compile one object and this happend freequently

    Now I hv 80 invalid object and in that 78 are for apps. Some of the objects are related to database link with another database having version 10.2.0.3

    Please clarify me the below doubts.

    We had database link "TEST" before the migration to 64 bit and it was mapping to a database version 10.2.0.3 running in 32 bit software.

    a) Database link with a different version is supported ?

    b) Can 64 bit 11.2.0.3 database have database link with 32 bit 10.2.0.3 database ?

    c) Can I create DB link (TEST)and test the link immediately after the utlirp.sql script(after recreate controlfile,utlirp.sql and before utlrp.sql). ? means, Database link should be ready before running the utlrp.sql ?

    Thanks,

    Yes it is supported

    DB link can be created any time. If the database link is created before running utlrp.sql, then the invalid objects associated with db links will be compiled successfully when utlrp.sql is run

    1 GB of SGA size is small. Can you increase this value?

    Please make sure you have the initialization parameters set as per (Database Initialization Parameters for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 396009.1]).

    Thanks a lot Srini and Hussein for making clarity on this.

    Now am importing OLAP AW. am facing issue...somewhere I am making simple mistake and my eye could not catch that .

    Could you please correct me with steps.

    I hv done below step:

    For export - Server A before migration:

    SQL> exec dbms_aw.execute('aw attach APPS.ODPCODE rw');

    SQL> exec dbms_aw.execute('allstat');

    SQL> create directory OLAPAW as '/u01/oraapps/DEV/db';

    SQL> grant all on directory OLAPAW to public;

    SQL> exec dbms_aw.execute('cda OLAPAW');

    SQL> exec dbms_aw.execute('export all to eif file ''OLAPAW/olap.eif ''');

    I can see *.eif files under '/u01/oraapps/DEV/db' and followe for other AWs.

    For import - Server B after migration: ( I am using the same hostname(server A))

    Now I am in import stage and follwed the step.

    SQL>exec dbms_aw.execute('aw create APPS.ODPCODE');

    SQL>create directory olapdir as '/u01/oraapps/DEV/db/';

    #copied all *.eif files to '/u01/oraapps/DEV/db/'

    SQL> grant all on directory olapdir to public;

    SQL>exec dbms_aw.execute('cda olapdir');

    SQL>exec dbms_aw.execute('import all from eif file ''olapdir/olap.eif'' data dfns');

    exec dbms_aw.execute('export all to eif file ''olapdir/olap.eif ''');

    I am getting below errors:

    exec dbms_aw.execute('import all from eif file ''olapdir/olap.eif'' data dfns');

    *
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-36786: File olapdir/olap.eif does not exist or cannot be accessed.

    OLAPDIR /u01/oraapps/DEV/db
    DATA_PUMP_DIR /u01/oraapps/DEV/db/admin/DEV/dpdump/

    Please help with correct step which I need to follow.

    Pl identify the document you are following for these steps. This seems to be a either a permissions issue or a syntax issue. Pl issue the commands exactly as documented in this MOS Doc

    Migrating OLAP From 32 To 64 Bits [ID 352306.1]

    Thanks Srini...

    I have followed the same doc only....

    I am spending a lot of time on this....and I hv given full permission for that path.

    Still same error...

    Could you please help with exact commands suited to my situation.

    Thanks

    exec dbms_aw.execute('import all from eif file ''olapdir/olap.eif'' data dfns');
    What if you change the above to the following, does it make a difference?

    exec dbms_aw.execute('import all from eif file ''OLAPDIR/olap.eif'' data dfns');

    Thanks,
    Hussein
