it is working through the dbms_file_transfer package...I would like to know whetherwe can copy from one server ntfs to another server asm file system?
asmcmd cp supports
1)one diskgroup to other diskgroup
2)from OS to diskgroup and viceversa
3)from locak diskgroup to remote diskgroup
thanks for the reply...
I am trying to do from os to diskgroup. But copy command is not working.
is this right syntax?
cp +DATA/test/test.txt C:\oracle\test.txt
what error you are getting?
following is the error

do i have to mention it in quotes??
Try without Drivename
cp +fra/gisdev/archivelog/2012_12_12/thread_1_seq_8687.3100.801877195 \Oracle\test\arch1.log
that is working only for the 'c' drive but what if we want to copy to other drives?? and also can we copy folders instead of individual files to acfs drives??
I know this is a bit late. But I found a way to make this work.
In windows cmd, create a Directory Junction.
: mklink /J c:\testfolder d:\testfolder
: asmcmd cp +DATA/DBA/DATAFILE/file /./testfolder/
This seems to work for me.
