we have OEM Grid 11g (11.1) configured. We need to monitor the Hosts DOWN alerts via email.
I have set up the below Rule. Can you please confirm if this is correct for the Host Down alert ?
Preference - Rules --
Host Availability and Critical States -- Target type (HOST) -- Add Hosts -- Actions (Send me E-mail)
The agent on the host is responsible for determining the status of the targets it monitors. So the Host target status is actually linked to the status of the Agent itself.
If the Agent is unreachable, it means that it is down, unresponsive or the host itself is shutdown. The actual message received with the 'Agent unreachable' status will indicate whether the host is up or not.
