Hi Experts,

We just installed GI 11.2.0.3 On Windows Server 2008 R2 with 3 Nodes. When i check the status of GI Services with "crsctl status res -t", It shows that ora.registry.acfs is online on node-1 where as it is offline on node2 and node3.
For further informaiton, We chosen ASM for OCR/Voting during GI (Grid Infrastructure) Installation.

I tried to start the service with "${GRID_HOME}/bin/acfsload start -s" on node2 and node3 but it didnt start the service. Please provide me step by step instructions to dignaose the issue and resolve it. Please take it important as we have to Install RAC after resolving this issue and move our production databases to this new setup.

Thanks, Adnan

what do the alert logs say about the error? There are a number of reasons why it didn't start. without actual errors, your guess is as good as ours.

Here is a good place to start
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E18283_01/server.112/e16102/asmfilesystem.htm
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e18951/asmfs_util005.htm

I still reply from some expert that helps me to start diagnoses, Step by Step diagnoses.
If books was the solution, I would not have posted my problem here.

Appriciate step by step diagnostics help to identify the issue.

Again, what errors are in the alert log for ASM?

    Start here:
    cd $ORACLE_BASE
    find $PWD -name alertI*.log
    find $PWD -name *.trc
Review the alert log and it should point you to a trace file

    cd $GRID_HOME
    find $PWD -name *.log

From the docs you seem to be ignoring, http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e18951/asmfs_extra.htm#CHDIABGC
Make sure your system is starting the acfs drivers
    gedit /etc/init.d/acfsload
The file will contain the runlevel configuration, and the acfsload command. Place in the file the following lines
    #!/bin/sh

    # chkconfig: 2345 30 21
    # description: Load Oracle ACFS drivers at system boot
    /u01/app/grid/product/11.2.0/grid/bin/acfsload start -s

    Save the file:
Change the permissions on the acfsload script to allow it to be executed by root with the command:

    chmod u+x /etc/init.d/acfsload

Create links in the rc2.d, rc3.d, rc4.d, and rc5.d runlevel directories. Use the chkconfig command to add and confirm the configuration.

    chkconfig --add acfsload

    chkconfig --list acfsload

Reading "books" is how we became "gurus" not by demanding that those who volunteer to provide assistance "give you step by step procedures". And if you are sitting by waiting for said "free" support, you could be waiting a while. If you can't find what you are looking for, then I would suggest logging a call with Oracle Support.

    OneDBGuru,

Thanks for the reply. First of all, as i mentioned, my platform is windows.
Secondly i am searching through the documents but still unable to find the exact reason, well i shall try to check if acsf driver is loaded or not. Less help is available on windows than other linux/solaris/unix platforms. i already have logged SR with oracle and following that SR with almost 15 days but not result yet.

But thanks for your sgguestions, i shall follow whatever can be implemented on windows among your suggestions.

    Regards,
    Adnan

    Adnan,

You should be sharing what error message you getting in your alert.log file, Once experts see the exact error message, there will be more people willing to help finding the resolution.

    Thanks

    Hi Kristan,

There is no specific error message, The only problem is when i check the status then ora.registry.acfs is online on node#1 but offline on Node#2 and Nod#3; I provided all required logs to oracle support as well but still no solution, My experience with Oracle support, specially ASM/Storage team has not been good at all, neither service level nor knowledge.

Please see below for detail From Node#2 and Same is output from Node#3. Please note its windows platform.
