I've some doubt in ASM and database. We usually can identify the database whether it is in ASM or not in the datafile or control file location. Is there any other way to identify whether db is running in ASM?
Your help is much appreciated.
If you can able to see the disk groups from the RDBMS instance, If the state is CONNECTED for the disk groups then the RDBMS instance is using ASM if not the status can be "MOUNT" or BROKEN, OR DISMOUNTED or UKNNOWN.
