          Catch-22
          The installer for Oracle 10gR2 was not designed to work under Oracle Linux 6 or RHEL 6.

          No Oracle database version prior to 11gR2 11.2.0.3 is certified to run under Oracle Linux 6 or RHEL 6.

          If you have installed a virtual machine with RHEL 4.8 guest OS, I suggest to install Oracle 10g there, which should work fine.

            Hi;

            you are trying to install wrong version as mention here.

            Please review:

                No Oracle version is certified on any Centos version

                  The Installation Guide for every Oracle product has a section listing what OS's are certified to run that product. Please go to tahiti.oracle.com. Drill down to your selected Oracle product and version. Locate the Installation Guide appropriate for your targeted family of operating systems (Linux, Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, etc). Within that Installation Guide there will be a section on Prerequisites. Rather than asking the community "What about this OS, what about that OS?" you can simply check the appropriate reference and answer the question for yourself. And if after doing so you don't see the OS you are interested in, the the answer is - by definition - "no, that OS is not certified to run this product".
