Unless you have a specific reason for it, I would not use Canvas for this. You are dealing with objects which you want to drag around, so it would probably be easier to use the regular scenegraph shapes. At first I would try to create a sceleton of your app where you try to get the basics right (transforms, selections, drag&drop). Then I would define a data model which you can save and re-load.

Any suggestion for data format for saving those objects? I was thinking using XML format to define each object properties (i.e. location, size, shape...). Is there any other easier way to do that?
