I am going to install a 2-node 126.96.36.199 Grid Infrastructure and DB on Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.3
Host OS : Windows 7 (RAM 16GB )
Guest OS : OEL 6.3
Hypervisor : VirtualBox 4.2.6
Its been more than an year since Virtual box has introduced Shared LUN creation feauture.
To configure shared LUNs, would you use Openfiler or VirtualBox's Shared LUN creation feauture ?
I know Openfiler needs a dedicated VM to be created. But I have enough RAM in my PC (16GB).
the Shared LUN feature is really good and sufficient for RAC testing. I personally would save the memory for the RAC node images, because 11gR2 needs more RAM than 10g.
However it depends, on what you exactly you want to test. If it is just for RAC experience stay with shared LUN.
If you want to test Storage outage or NFS/dNFS installements, then Openfiler is probably better...
