Navigation Menu

I (we) are trying to do navigation menus. Yes, we know there is a navigation region template. But we don't wish to be restricted to the navigation sidebar area -- We want to use names more than 190 pixels wide and have them NOT wrap. ( See {thread:id=2480738})

Here is a page with two examples: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=59901:3 using Dever / Ima9Dever

First example:
The Chart List (and Report List) regions give us much of what we want -- if we could just remove the list image/icon that comes by default. What's involved in doing that? And is there an attribute to shift the menu to left?

Second example:
The second example uses the navigation region template for the sidebar area. We don't want the entries to wrap. If we were to use this template instead, what is involved in overriding the 190/200 pixel width limitation of the sprite used for the background.

Or, can someone point us to a simple menu example -- that works with long names -- that we can parrot.

    Create a copy of the Chart List region template (call it say, "Wide Navigation Region") and remove the following image markup from the template definition:
    ...
    <div class="rc-image">
      <img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_21/images/report_icon.png" alt="" />
    </div>
    ...
    You now have a template that can be reused whenever you need regions of this type.

    Fantastic!! I created a "Chart List without Image" template as suggested. It looks great.

    But let me push the envelop here. (Please see the first menu here: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=59901:3 Dever / Ima9Dever ) I'm forcing the double-spacing of the list entries by putting a
    <BR>
    before each entry in the referenced list. But is there an attribute I can add to the customized template to control line spacing at the template level?

    Thanks,
