Should APEX Listener 2.0 work with 10.2.0.3 Database ?

Hello,

Centos 6.0 x64 , new database instance on 10.2.0.3 database server with new apex 4.2.1 installation .

When using APEX listener 2.0 (standalone or glassfish) there is blank page in browser. Sometimes after restart login page appears , then blank.

But all things work well with listener version 1.1.4.195.00.12 , except RESTFul services.

Does APEX 2.0 should work with Database Server 10.2.0.3 ?

Thank you,

mdyla

    Hello mdyla,

    It should work.
When using APEX listener 2.0 (standalone or glassfish) there is blank page in browser. Sometimes after restart login page appears , then blank.
This is usually the case when your static contents for APEX ("images") is not referenced properly.
But all things work well with listener version 1.1.4.195.00.12 , except RESTFul services.
Depending on how you've deployed AL 1.1.4, you might have to do some things a little different with APEX Listener 2. Please either have a look at the APEX 2 Installation Guide concerning your GlassFish deployment (section [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37099_01/doc/doc.20/e25066/install.htm#CHDIIIGA]Create the Web Archive for Oracle Application Express Images) or run
    java -jar apex.war help standalone
to see the information about start options in Standalone Mode. For instance, the command line option to pass in the path to your apex images changed from APEX Listener 1.1. To do that, you'd now call
    java -jar apex.war standalone --apex-images /usr/local/apex/images
(possibly along with additional start options)...

Please also note that APEX Listener 2 is required to use the RESTful features of APEX 4.2. APEX Listener 1.1 does offer RESTful services too, but they are configured in APEX Listener itself instead of the APEX integration.

thank you very much for a reply ,

I am quite sure this is not a AL 2.0 configuration issue .

There are no according messages in AL logs. Also there is no erros reported by database trigger "AFTER SERVERERROR ON DATABASE" and there are no messages in database alerts .

How to trace this issue at database level ?

    regards,

this is same issue like Re: Apex Listener 2.0 returns only a blank page when deployed under Glassfish

http://192.168.100.105:8080/i/apex_version.txt returns "Application Express Version: 4.2.1"

http://192.168.100.105:8080/apex or http://192.168.100.105:8080/apex/apex_admin returns HTTP STATUS 200 and content length 0

I installed fresh Centos x64 with database 10.2.0.5 x64 , and got this same error.

Is there a chance to have database 10.2 with AL 2.0 working ?

    Regards

Hi can you post the full HTTP response from accessing /apex_admin, you can use Firebug in Firefox or the Developer tools in Chrome to show this. Can you also try accessing /apex/f?p=4550:1, and posting any response generated by that as well.

    Thanks,
