This post will probably win the "dumbest question of 2013" award. I thought I knew my Apex password, and I had it written down, but Apex isn't accepting it. The error message is "Invalid Login Credentials". I know the database is up because SQL*Plus is working. Is there a default password, or some other trick, to get me into Apex? Perhaps there's a query I can run in SQL*Plus that will reveal my password. Thank you!
P.S. I'm running 4.1 on Windows 7 with Oracle 11g.
Application password :
Request your application admin to reset the password.
Apex Workspace password :
Reset password thru APEX_ADMIN administrator login or request your Apex Admin to reset the workspace password.
If you are referring to Apex Internal Admin password, you can reset it by running apxchpwd.sql script available in apex installation folder with SQL Plus etc. If you have lost workspace password, this can be reset using the 'Reset Password' link given on the login page or from Apex Internal Admin.
Sorry if I haven't been explicit enough about the nature of the problem. I'm not an Apex guru yet and I'm doing the best I can.
Where I'm having trouble is logging into the main screen of Apex. Here's the URL that I use to get there.
The above URL shows a page with the following three labels/fields:
It's this password field that I somehow managed to forget the value for.
I ran the apxchpwd script in SQL*Plus. I logged in using the following command.
c:\apex>sqlplus "sys/syspass as sysdba"
Then I entered "@apxchpwd" and entered a new password. It told me that the PL/SQL procedure completed successfully and that the transaction was committed. Then I went back to the URL above but the new password didn't work. The error message says "Invalid Login Credentials".
Any more ideas? I'm pulling my hair out.
I'm running Apex 4.1 on Windows 7 and 11g (all local).
