i wanted to install sql developer but it says it needs the java path
i tried to install java 7 and 6 but they didnt work
can anyone help me and tell me what realease of java it needs ?
and where can i find it ?
note : oracle 11g

You need to make sure your SQL Developer and Java architectures match.
What version of SQL Developer did you download - x86 or x64?
Both of these will run happily on 64-bit windows.
You need to install java architecture (32 or 64-bit) which matches the SQL Developer download.
THe files you said you installed are the full JDK. The JDK install also installs the jre separately. You need to find the actual JDK installation directory. If you didn't change the default, it will be something like C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_38
