Viewing com.bea mbeans with jconsole or jvisualvm

I just upgraded from WLS 9.2 to 12.1. I cannot see the com.bea mbeans in either jconsole or jvisualvm. I see Coherence, JMImplementation, com.oracle.jdbc, com.sun.management, java.lang, java.nio, and java.util.logging. I'm using these startup params:

I've uncommented the users in the the jmxremote.password file and locked down the file permissions. The username/password works. Since enabling jmx authentication, I need to make an explicit jmx connection from jvisualvm. It doesn't otherwise see WebLogic running on the same machine, nor does it throw up a warning about not being able to monitor local apps.
