No other way to do this I'm afraid. Out of interest why do you want to disable automatic startup?

In the actual case we have to change something with the underlying storage so we have to unmount and mount the mountpoint with our binaries(which is also the mountpoint of the agent-home) restart the server etc...
So it would be nice to disable and enable the autostart.
Could you put those changes in another script and execute it as a startup script before the agent gets started?
Everything is ok! We do not need a workaround for this special problem. We already solved it. It was just an example.
I think it should be possible to decide on our own if we want to start the agent automatically or not.
So i thought that there should be an easy switch to turn the autostart on and off.

Auto-startup script called gcstartup which will be present under /etc/init.d directory.
These auto-start scripts are not available on Microsoft Windows.
