3.2.1 cannot add server to pool

    Roddy Rodstein
      Greetings,

We just installed 3.2.1 Oracle VM Manager using an EE DB and one 3.2.1 Oracle VM server. We setup the NICs/bonds, VLAN Groups, Networks, and storage, then created a pool. The pool creation completes although our only OVS server does not join the pool. We receive the following messages:

Thank you in advance for you support!

      Error 1:
      [2013-01-24 17:24:12 18011] ERROR (service:96) catch_error: Already in cluster: ocfs2

      raise Exception("Already in cluster: %s" % cluster_name)

      Exception: Already in cluster: ocfs2

(we checked, there is no cluster.conf file, and to be sure we remove and recreate the ovs-agent/db/* files, try again, no love)

      Error 2:
      [2013-01-24 17:11:46 9159] ERROR (xmlrpc:123) Unauthorized access attempt from ('xx.xx.xx.xx', 35634)!

      raise Exception('Authorization Failed')

      Exception: Authorization Failed

(we see many of theses, we reset the ovs-agent oracle password, rediscover, delete and re-discover, no love)

      Error 3:
[2013-01-24 17:29:32 21514] ERROR (service:96) catch_error: Server cannot be pooled: not owned by a manager

raise Exception("Server cannot be pooled: not owned by a manager")

(We checked the servers props in OVM Manager, its owned :-)

We have deleted the pool, checked that there are no cluster.conf file, cleaned the local DB, dd the MBR on the poolfs, recreate the pool, same messages as above and the ovs will not add.

      Regards,

did you ever get this solved, I have a similar issue after I had a motherboard issue and had to replace and rebuild the server

            user12193191,

            This will do the trick:

1- ensure that the server to be added to the pool is clean, i.e. re -fr /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf, service ovs-agent stop, rm -fr /etc/ovs-agent/db/*, service over-agent start

2- copy the o2cb file from an existing pool member to the server to be added to the pool

3- rediscover the server, and boom, all good.....

            Respectfully,

            Roddy
