What is FileOperation and FileType in 10046 trc ?

      Hello experts,

I collected the trc log with 10046 event and I found below information:

      WAIT #4: nam='Disk file operations I/O' ela= 152 FileOperation=2 fileno=0 filetype=28 obj#=-1 tim=1359096247625058
      WAIT #4: nam='Disk file operations I/O' ela= 14 FileOperation=8 fileno=0 filetype=28 obj#=-1 tim=1359096247625124

Can somebody show me what does it mean for FileOperation=2 (8) and filetype=28 ?

Is any document saying the definition for all FileOperation and filetype? Can I have the list please?

      Thanks
      Jie

Disk file operations I/O event is used to wait for disk file operations. It is also used for miscellaneous I/O operations such as block dumps and password file accesses.

FileOperation - Type of file operation (open, close, seek, and resize)
          fileno - File identification number
filetype - Type of file (for example, log file, data file, and so on)

            Hi Nadeem,
Yes I understand them. My question is where I can get a list of FileOperation and filetype.

            For example:
FileOperation: 1 stands for open, 2 stands for read, something like this.
filetype: 1 standards for undo file, 2 stands for pwd file, something like this

            Thanks

I did some research and found following.
                ### FILETYPE ###
                     0 - Other
                     1 - Control File
                     2 - Data File
                     3 - Log File
                     4 - Archive Log
                     6 - Temp File
                     9 - Data File Backup
10 - Data File Incremental Backup
                    11 - Archive Log Backup
                    12 - Data File Copy
                    17 - Flashback Log
18 - Data Pump Dump File
You can get the FILETYPE for all the files accessed for your database via following query
                select distinct filetype_id, filetype_name from dba_hist_iostat_filetype order by 1;
                ### FILEOPERATION ###
                    1 - file creation
                    2 - file open
                    3 - file resize
                    4 - file deletion
                    5 - file close
6 - wait for all aio requests to finish
                    7 - write verification
8 - wait for miscellaneous io (ftp, block dump, passwd file)
9 - read from snapshot files
