One thing that I have a doubt is do I have to restart my host machine for the Hosts file changes to take effect?

    Hi,

Are you using the correct port number?

on your guest os, do the following

Source the application environment file, then please post the output of

    $grep -i login $CONTEXT_FILE

And also check if you see any errors in the access_log and error_log files at $LOG_HOME/ora/10.1.3/Apache/

I mean post the last 50 lines from the access_log and error_log of the last updated files.

    Thanks

    Hi Shrini

Here is the content of Linux Host File
    # Do not remove the following line, or various programs
    # that require network functionality will fail.
    127.0.0.1          apps.appserver apps localhost.localdomain localhost
    ::1          localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6

and here is the content of Windows host file

    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    # localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
    #     127.0.0.1 localhost
    #     ::1 localhost

I also have logged in to sysadmin and tried navigating a bit.

However forms wont open on Linux OS due to JRE plugin missing.

Your hosts file on the Linux should be formatted as follows:

Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86 [ID 761564.1]
Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and Upgrade Notes Release 12 (12.1.1) for Linux x86-64 [ID 761566.1]

So, please fix the entries, run AutoConfig on all tier nodes, bounce the services, and check then.

This is an expected behavior since Linux is not certified as a client tier -- I just wanted to confirm that the services are up.
