    Hi Maahjoor,
In general canvas support only available color in form Color Palate.
Then easy of of set color can be done in two way.
    1. Go layout editor
    2. select the canvas
    3. From left bottom tool plate select your desire fill color. and done...

    or
    1. select the canvas
    2. go to it's property plate
    3. under color >> set background color

here you can set your custom color by entering value
    like
    R88G88B88
    Hope this works..

    no, it is not working
i check the RGB in the paint color plate, and put them in the property plate as you said,
but it give the following error
frm-12305: Color by this name does not exist.

no , i have noticed a person long ago, he do the following,

    capture the image,
    paste in maspaint
    choose the pick color
    add it to custom color
    open the form builder
    and choose the color plate,
and that color which he added into the custom color in the mspaint, exists in the forms color plate.

but i dont know how he do this

i am pretty sure that it was not a registery technique.
it was purely oracle forms technique.
    somehow i am digging it.

    Yes !!!
    you can.
    follow the instruction.

    In 10g

    Set to Editable
Edit -> Preferences -> change colour mode property to Editable -> Exit form builder

    Add Custom Colour

    Re-open the form
    Open a canvas
From Edit Menu-> Layout Options -> Colour Palette
Select a colour to edit by clicking on an undefined colour i.e. a white square on the bottom far left of the palette
In the current colour dialog it will say something like custom5 change it to a more meaningful name you can call it the rgb value
Then click on rename -> then Edit -> change the rbg value to the colour you want to add-> click OK

    Export the custom colour palette
From the canvas -> Edit -> Export -> Colour Palette -> give it a name

    Your are done...
