    Hardwire Raid

      Hi everyone,

      I had a hardware raid configuration with raid 5 having 5 disks. One week before i am unable to access the storage console through serial cable .So i tried for console, removing the hard disks when it is offline and iam able to get console .When check the hard disks, two hard disks gone bad ..is there any possibility to recover the data.The hard disk gone bad when there is no data access.Help me to solve this issue..It is a sun store edge 3300 with scsi connection to sunfire v240..

          If you have lost two disks in a raid5 then you have a very bad day.

          It is possible some specialists can recover it for you.

          I am unsure if the 3310 requires disks to be returned to the same slot. If there was a mix up switching the offending disks might help ... But I imagine a 3310 knows about uuid.

          Gone bad is not a technically useful term. You are not helpinging people help you. You may also find it useful to log al your actions and error messages in detail.

          Logging a call with oracle support would be a sensible course of action. Also preparing for restore from backup.
