B2B outbound Channel Configuration - EMail - SMTP message cannot be sent

Hello,

I am trying to configure an outbound channel to send the payload (xml) as an attachment to an email address. I have the following configuration and when tested, the transport failed with an error "Transport error: [IPT_MsgCannotBeSent] SMTP message cannot be sent."
Email system is Lotus Notes.

Host name: mail.domain.com (this is the Lotus Notes SMTP server)
Content Type: application/b2b
Send as Attachment: True
Email Id: vendor1@domain.com (also tried an IMAP enabled mail file)
Subject: Test PO
Email Server: IMAP (Defaulted to IMAP).

Can B2B transport data to any email system / protocols or Is IMAP and POP3 are the only ones supported?

Here is the error message and I am not sure what this means, any explanation on this would be helpful.
