    connecting without authenticating

    413827
      When I issue the following commands in sqlplus in oracle 11g Rel2 in solaris

      connect sys/wrong password as sysdba
      connect ja;dslfjas;dfjas;/kj;asdkjf;asdk as sysdba
      it is connecting both at idle state as well as at open state also.
      Why it is happening so and how to rectify this problem.

          It is happening because you are logged into the o/s using an account that is a member of the dba o/s group.

          It is not a problem to be rectified. It is working as designed.

          EDIT1:

          Rob's pointed you to the docs and Osama's solution will necessitate a valid username/password to be used. This means that the following will no longer work:

          SQL> connect / as sysdba

          That may be what you want or not. But, as I said initially, things are functioning as designed it's a matter of configuration.

            Read the documentation about [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e25494/dba006.htm#sthref74]authentication for SYS user

              to prevent this add the below line to sqlnet.ora
               SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES=(NONE)
