Hi,

While importing a data file into a essbase database using load rule, this error is popping out. We are triggering this import from an autosys job by a unix script which inturn calls maxlscript.

below is the error in the log:

ERROR - 1053011 - Object [sample] is not locked by user [maxlscript].
ERROR - 1241101 - Unexpected Essbase error 1053011.
ERROR - 1053011 - Object [sample] is not locked by user [maxlscript].
ERROR - 1241101 - Unexpected Essbase error 1053011.

When i went through the oracle support documents, i see that error 1053011 has the following causes and solutions:

Problem

1053011 Object objectName is not locked by user userName

Possible cause:

Analytic Services cannot unlock the listed object because it is not locked.

Possible Solutions

1. See if another user has locked the file.
2. Stop and restart Analytic Server.
3. Check to see if the database is corrupt.

I dont understand whats the actual problem is, the error says that object is "not locked" , and the possible cause states that "Analytic services cannot unlock the listed object because it is not locked".

My question is, If the object is not at all locked what is the point in unlocking it ??

I know that if any error like "object is locked" comes up we need to unlock it.

In our case we are re-running the job again and its running fine the very next time. I don't see anyone logged or doing any operations on that database. I went through the Essbase log, and no luck over there.

Am not able to understand the current problem we are having. Any suggestions??

Thanks,
Diddy
