note that the hyperlink points to the local client machine if you use file:/// as the link URL. Its not looking for the file on the server side
Thanks Frank for your prompt answer. Thats a first big help.... i shouldn't be using file:/// in front of network file path...
Any suggestion about linking to network shared file.
(after doing several file uploads and downloads..... its really odd that i can't make this simple thing work....)
Mount the shared network drive from the server machine running your ADF application using SMB/CIFS. The exact details depend on the server OS, you should be able to find instructions with Google.

believe me, i have spent 2-3 hours surfing throug google but can't find resolution to this simple question.....
