PR is called at the time of loading the page with values, ideally if the field is initialized after the point you are printing the value you may not get any value.
to pass the value from Page 1 to Page 2, check the value of the filed in PFR of Page 1's controller it should come up, if the value is still NULL check the name of the the filed which you are passing.
Hope it helps!!!!
I also thought so, and I tried writing that in PFR. Still it does not return the values.
Basically, there is a next button. So I have written the code in Page-1 CO and when I press next and go page-2, it shows all the log messages I have put in the CO in the Page-2 diagnostics, but not the values.
OK I am able to get it now. Not sure what I did, probably the wrong version of extended CO created the mess.
1 more follow up question:
I have the data in page 2. Now I need to show it in the page. It should be like : The new user is <Session_id_param>
I created a message style text using personalization. I gave the prompt. Now where will I map the field to the new data (<Session_id_param>) in the page?
I am facing issues in this. I have created an item in a region which is attached to a CO. When I try to access the bean in the same CO i get NULL.
But when I access it in the page level CO I get it. But I need to access it in the same Co as there are some alignment issues if I use the page level CO. Any clue on how to get it.
2 options. Store the value as a session variable (pageContext.putSessionValue) and retrieve the session value OR store the value in hashParameteres while sending it to the next page.
I can access it from the main CO also. So that is resolved.
