Apex Calendar - Display Values Vertical

    apexerusms
Is there a way to display values in a calendar vertically?

      i.e.

      Jan 1:
      V V
      A A
      L L
      U U
      E E
      1 2

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I suppose you could embed HTML line break codes in the returned data, e.g.
          T<BR>h<BR>e<BR>D<BR>a<BR>t<BR>a
You'd have to write a PL/SQL routine that, given any string, would return it in the above format, e.g. BREAK_EVERY_LETTER. Then your source SELECT would be something like: SELECT BREAK_EVERY_LETTER(ORIGINAL_DATA) AS VERTICAL_DATA FROM MY_TABLE

            Thanks for your suggestion

            I tried the following SQL:

            select replace(TheData,'-','<BR>') AS VERTICAAL_DATA FROM MY_TABLE;

The above SQL presents the data vertically in the calendar. However the results for multiple rows of data appear in one column only...

            i.e.

            Jan 1
            V
            a
            l
            u
            e
            1
            V
            a
            l
            u
            e
            2

Your idea is a great start... hopefully I'll figure out how to display each value side by side.

            Thanks again

Hopefully someone with the power to stop this will recognise that it is monstrously ugly, unusable, and a major accessibility problem for visually impaired and dyslexic users before you do. Please reconsider.

What is the actual problem this is trying to solve?

                Paul,

                Agreed...hideous.

                That said, Dear Anonymous User,

                2. Are you familiar with Oracle's pivot query capabaility? If not, check this out http://www.oracle-developer.net/display.php?id=506. If so; that will be your mechnism to get your rows into columns and, hence, to display all the values.
