This attribute can be used to limit the number of simultaneous client connections slapd can manage. The main goal is to cap slapd memory usage.
By default, this limit is not set, so slapd can manage up to the max number of file descriptor allowed for the slapd process.
Use only when needed. You can use the ulimit command to get the current OS limit settings.
My objective is to figure out a limit for this attribute so that we can find it as a bottleneck for DS. As I understood it is dependant of server configuration, can we consider "max number of file descriptor allowed for the slapd process" is the limit for this attribute.
