    Athurumithuru
      Hi All,

Mistakenly I have configure dataguard on different versions. Primary is 11.2.0.3.0 and StandBy is 11.2.0.1.0.
Log shipping is perfectly working, but cannot put StandBy in read only mode.

Pls help me to upgrade StandBy to 11.2.0.3.0.

      Rgds,
      Athurumithuru.

is it physical standby or logical standby database?
Log ship will occur, can you confirm whether archives are applying ? i dont think so.

Moreover you cannot upgrade standby system from 11.2.0.1 to 11.2.0.3 Whenever you perform ugprade the data dictionary will be modified and DML's are not allowed on standby either.

If you have upgraded primary database, Start standby in mount status after installing 11.2.0.3 then start recovery. Whenever archives are applied the data dictionarly will be updated internally. You no need to perform any changes.
So once standby is completely synchronized then you can open read only purpose.

            Dear CKPT,

Its physical StandBy. Pls inspect the verification script output of PrimaryDB and StandBY.

Why you again connecting to 11.2.0.1 home? Once you installed and upgraded primary database, The next step is on standby is to start database in mount status of 11.2.0.3.0 home.
Once you start MRP, Archives should apply without any issues.

If once it is synchronized then you can open database for read-only.
