Well, I am not sure about the need of customizing the java bean class. Can you please describe what exactly you are trying to do by customizing a java class?1 person found this helpful
For your usecase, view object seems to be the right place to customize the query criteria. To find the responsible View Object you can go to the page definition of the search popup page by right clicking on the lov component and selecting go to bindings. on the bindings page it will highlight the vo instance used for that LOV. right click on it and choose edit definition. this will take you to the right view object.

On Step6, do we need to put the files right away to the server APP-INF and WEB_INF folder or the EM would be able to take .MAR file from Local Machine itself. I am asking to confirm the question if we need sudo access to unix env to ftp these files to the application folders.

Yes from the page composer you can navigate through the tree structure and can see the exact location of the page.
