32 Bit ODBC Driver for Oracle 11g 11.2.0.1.0

Hi Team

I have purchased Oracle 11 g (v. 11.2.0.1.0) and installed on my Server (64 Bit Windows Server 2008 R2)
I would like to download the 32 Bit ODBC Driver for the same version.

The ODBC drivers are available in the Administrative Tools -> ODBC. I believe they are the 64 bit ODBC drivers. The 32 bit drivers are not available in the C:/Windows/SysWOW/ODBC.exe. How can one install the 32 bit ODBC driver.

I found ODAC 11.2 Release 2 (11.2.0.1.2) with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio in the link mentioned below
[http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/windows/downloads/index-101290.html]

Is is okay to install the setup (Note: the versions do not match, however the installation file has the the ODBC drivers for 11.2.0.1.0 version as well).
If yes ,can some one help me install the same. I am finding it difficult to do the same as installation is a little complicated (Home Base Selection, Software Location etc)

I would like to confirm if the same is compatible with the installed version.
Please instruct if any additional steps or care has to be taken for the same. I am afraid if the 32 bit driver would replace the existing 64 bit drivers.

Could you please help me with any installation document or guide for the ODBC driver.

Thanks in advance

Regards
Sanjay

Install the 32 bit ODAC into a new home. You don't need to match the software component point versions exactly (you can use ODBC 11.2.0.1.0)

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

The following are the components available in the ODBC Setup

I am not sure if this set up file has the 32 bit ODBC drivers in specific.

I also found a set up for download in the below mentioned link.

Is that the setup that has to be used to install the 32 bit drivers.

If both are incorrect, could you please help me with the correct link.

    Regards

If you want the 32 bit ODBC drivers, then yes, you need to download and install the 32 bit ODAC.

This should be installed onto a new directory, right ? (any directory can be made new Oracle Home Base).
By installing the same the 32 bit ODBC drivers would be available in C:/Windows/SWSWOW64/odbc32.exe right ?

Am doing this for one of my client (critical data) & I am a newbie in Oracle, please don mind if my questions are really silly. :)

    Hi,

Download and install oracle client 64 bit since you are using 64 bit server.

No, the 32 bit one is required to use a 32 bit ODBC application. It works alongside the 64 bit one, so you can have both.

    ODBC 32bit exe

    %windir%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe

    ODBC 64bit exe

    %windir%\System32\odbcad32.exe

    Control+r

    Paste

    Profit

The window will display both 32 and 64 bit versions of your connections but will create only the version you ran until you switch over to the other..
