          Consider the following:

          1. The file name or path should not contain spaces or special characters
          2. You are not trying to save to a network (or mapped drive)
          3. The user has proper permissions to access the directory where you are trying to save.
          4. jacob.jar has been properly signed before use

You really haven't given us very much information to go on. What are you trying to do with WebUtil? When does the error occur?

Based solely on the information you did provide, it appears that file you are trying to create does not have a valid file name or the path to the file is not valid.
Description:This is not a valid file name
What have you tried so far to fix this error?

Can you give us a sample of your code?

What is your Forms, Java, Browser and JACOB.jar versions?

              Hi Craig,
I am getting this error when I try to open a MS word file from a mapped drive.
& I am not using webUtils

whenever I try to open a word file i get the error :-
              WUO-707:Unable to invoke Method:SaveAs;
              Exception
              com.jacob.com.ComFailException:Invoke of:SaveAs
              Source:Microsoft Word
Description:This is not a valid file name
Try one or more of the following :
Check the path to make sure it was correctly typed.
Select a file from the list of files and folders.

and when I press OK tab, i see the following error :-

              WUO-705:Unable to invoke method:Open;Exception
              com.jacob.com.ComFailException:Can't map name to dispid:Open

& I have checked that Jacob.jar is properly signed.

              Please suggest a resolution.

              Regards,

                As I mentioned,

                1. The file name or path should not contain spaces or special characters
*2. You are not trying to save to a network (or mapped drive)*
                3. The user has proper permissions to access the directory where you are trying to save.
                4. jacob.jar has been properly signed before use

Net drives can be accessed in some cases, but generally will be considered "not supported".

I am getting this error when I try to open a MS word file from a mapped drive.
As Michael indicated, WebUtil does not work with a Network Mapped drive. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
                  Please suggest a resolution.
I recommend you have your users copy the file to their local drive and then open the file.

                    Thanks for the update Craig,
Currently user is not facing the issue. May be the issue is intermittent.
