We are developing a project with ADF Mobile. Our project is growing day by day and our deployment time is taking much more day by day. Now our best times for deployment and starting the project are nearly 10-12 minutes. We watched Shays video about deployment on ADF Mobile and we have done what he told about iin video. It helps us a little bit but deployment is still painy . What we can do at this point to reduce the times?
i want add to something to my first post ;
-Our devices are Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 which are very powerful devices
-At C:\Jdeveloper\mywork\ProjectName\deploy folder we have a deploymet profile output folder and its size is nearly 100-150 mbytes . We are thinking that this sizes are very big and that will cause extra times when deployment.
The size of your deploy folder is normal. I have started work on a small application this week. Currently, my deploy folder weights 92Mb but the resulting APK is 9Mb in size. Nothing to worry about.
You probably have problems with the USB connection if the deployment process is that slow. I suspect there are many timeouts and reconnects. Do you have the same issue when deploying from another computer? Have you tried using another USB cable? Can you try to deploy on another device type (a smartphone, for example), and see if you have the same problem?
Also, you could try to simply create an APK for your application (use the same deployment profile, but select package instead of device as the target) and deploy it on the command line using Google's SDK. See http://developer.android.com/tools/help/adb.html#move
You can also try this:
Deploy to an apk file.
Manually copy the apk file directly to the SD card of the device
use an app installer application like this:
See if this works faster.
