    Hi,

Basically swap size is depend on physical ram size
ideally it should be double the size of physical ram

If you preparing the Oracle Server for production then It is recommended to follow the oracle documentation
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/pre_install.htm#CHDCEBFF

CentOS is not a supported distro for Oracle installs - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24321/pre_install.htm#CHDFFBIF

Is there a reason you cannot use a supported OS ?

A few folks have been successful in installing on CentOS, but when issues arise, you will have to troubleshoot them yourself.

    Hi,
    I have 128 G RAM,
according to oracle my swap size should be 16G, but linux say memory above 64G swap size should be 4G.
but oracle in their documentation say
    "
Contact your operating system vendor for swap space allocation guidance for your server. The vendor guidelines supersede the swap space requirements listed in this guide.
    "

    Thanks

I have two thoughts for your consideration

First, as has already been mentioned, CentOS is not certified by Oracle as a platform on which to run their products. I'd be much more concerned about that that than any discrepancy between the OS vendor and Oracle regarding swap space.

Second, in either case, swap space is (1) a "recommended" value, and (2) NOT cast in stone - that is, you can always adjust later if you find a need.

If you care about documentation than I suggest start to use certified platform. You are already working on not certified platform so I belive SWAP size is not so important or biggest problem.

As mention here home OS not supported, so as mention here again if you make some googling you can find link&blog which is mention to create WM machine, install linux(you can use OEL linux which is free and can be download from e-delivery site) than you can make 11g installation on it, than you can follow inst. guide for decide SWAP size
