Your code looks ok. Check if your host(ip) form where your are invoking RIDC API is in allowable list of IP's by content server. You can check that in config.cfg file's SocketHostAddressSecurityFilter variable.
Also try to enable following traces "requestaudit, socketrequests, socketprotocol, searchquery, search" and run the test again. It will give you some clues.
my IP filter is set to 127:0:0:1 | 0:0:0:0
the last entry i made to check... and as i said earlier idc protocol used to work for us.
also i checked my intra doc port is set to 7777.
so what else could be a porblem.
please provide further pointers

Hi ,1 person found this helpful
With intradoc server port can you check and verify what is the query / service being sent to the server ? Turn socketrequest tracing section along with full verbose set to see what request is incoming .
i hv added socketrequests, and turned full verbose.
there is nothing in logs. am i missing some thing
one more thing that is weired
when i do search using annonymous user i.e.
IdcContext userContext = new IdcContext(""); using idc protocol
it gives me result but when user is weblogic or any other external user no result is coming.
i read in docs that idc is trusted way, so if i dont give the username user is annonymous.
so i think the problem is with user 'weblogic ' priviledge, but why http is showing me result.
also weblogic is able to see all document in UCM console.

That's interesting ,so when you are doing a intradoc connection to server no request is being sent to the server. Are you using the correct set of port value for the server .

do i hv to restart server after full verbose check?
Is there a "+" sign as well in config.cfg for IntradocServerPort ?

Is your WLS admin server running and available to the managed server? Or are you running the managed server in independence mode? If the admin server is unavailable, requests via idc protocol using 'external' users (like weblogic) will fail. However http requests will continue to work.
One way to test this is to use 'sysadmin' as the user when connecting using idc protocol. If that works, then that probably means the WLS admin server is unavailable.
I checked with admin server it up and running .
UCM managed server is thr what else do u mean by independence mode for managed server.
p.s. i marked ur rply as correct, but my question is still open, and problem persist
'Independence mode' describes the state when a managed server is started without having an admin server available.1 person found this helpful
Does using the 'sysadmin' user work?
yes 'sysadmin' works with idc,
but the issue was related to Credential Mapper configuration, its solved now.
both protocol are working fine and guset user can search for public content
but when i check 'configuration' of UCM managed server configuration-->tuning->advance
there is a checked option of 'Managed Server Independence Enabled', the description says it for strating/stoping managed server when admin server is unavailable
does it effect they othe external provider in WLS like 'embedded LDAP' or AD.
thanks to all, learned alot here.
