Hello experts,
I am using Oracle database XE11.2,
My problem is with Oracle Application Express, right to left issue:
I created appliaction, and I want to make it right to left (pages, tabs, actions, search bar, buttons). i.e. Right to left application

In English there is no problem becuase it is left to right language, How can I make Application in
Arabic to be right to left application?

I will appreciate any help.

Hussam.

    Dear Hussam,

    To achieve what you need, you have to update the following templates:
    1) page template
    2) form region template
    3) report region template

    Mainly, with above templates you will use the following code inside ssome tags
    dir="rtl"
    If the question is answered, please close the thread as answered and give the points where earned

    Hello Mahmoud,
    Thank you very much for your reply.
    I did what you suggested, and it solved my problem partially (ofcourse it is better than what it was)
    still there is a problem:
    1- the searh bar still exist in the left side of the page, as it was before, and it didn't move to the right side.
    2- The tabs, still in the left side, and it didn't move to the right side.

    I will be pleased if you can help me to solve the above issue.

    thank you very much.

    Assume theme 22

    About the tabs, I would do it by the following:
    Inside the header section of page template, define the following div class
    #myrightdiv {
         position: absolute;
            right: 0%;
    }
    And inside the body section, surround #TAB_CELLS# as the following
    <div id="myrightdiv">
    <ul dir="RTL" id="tabs">
    #TAB_CELLS#
    <li class="last" dir="RTL"><span></span></li>
    </ul>
    </div>
    Regards

    hello Mahmaoud,
    I am really appreciate your effort to help.
    Actually I used theme 2, but I created an exmple with theme 22 to test.
    Unfortuanatelly, for some reason it didn't work.
    in Edit Page Template, in the header section of the page template, after the line <!--[if lte IE 6]><div id="outdated-browser">#OUTDATED_BROWSER#</div><![endif]-->
    I inserted(neglect ******** I added it just in the message and not in edit page template):
    ********#myrightdiv {
    ********position: absolute;
    ********right: 0%;
    ********}

    in the body section of page template:
    instead of the text:
    ul id="tabs"> ******** in the begging of this line:< ***********
    #TAB_CELLS#
    li class="last"><span></span></li>***** in the begging of this line:< *****
    /ul>******** in the begging of this line:< ***********

    I replced it with:
    div id="myrightdiv">******** in the begging of this line:< ********
    ul dir="RTL" id="tabs">******** in the begging of this line:< ********
    #TAB_CELLS#
    li class="last" dir="RTL"><span></span></li>******** in the begging of this line< ********
    /ul>******** in the begging of this line:< ***********
    /div>******** in the begging of this line:< ***********

    what wrong I did? why it is not working?
    what about the seach bar? how can I make it to be on the right side?

    Thank you very much indeed.

    Do you mean a theme like this: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=581:1:0:::::

    It has built in support for rtl or ltr style applicatons.. (tabs too!!)

    Thank you,

    Hello Hussam,

    You should search this forum for Arabic and Hebrew. There are several threads that deal with APEX Right-To-Left support, which involved much more than just changing the CSS direction attribute. Unfortunately, APEX 4.x versions are less friendly to RTL support than previous versions, mainly because new features were added, which can't be reversed easily (e.g. sub-menus of IR). Still, you can get a decent RTL support for most elements.

    Regards,
    Arie.

    Hello Tony,

    I didn't see your post when I submitted mine.

    Your reference is a good example of a decent RTL support, but not a perfect one. If you look at the IR examples, you'll see that they are still LTR oriented. I don't have the option to check the implementation of the Shuttle item, which have unique needs where RTL support is concerns, so this issue should also be checked, certainly if you are going to purchase the Theme.

    Regards,
    Arie.

    Don't believe you can really tweak the IR's to right to left support, since their CSS and such is pretty much a blackbox, right? Also haven't checked the shuttles either, but that is a good point..

    I personally like this theme since it looks better than MOST of the stock APEX themes (Theme 25 {Responsive theme} is nice in its self..

    Hello Arie,
    Actually before I posted this thread I search in the forum a solution regarding this issue. but I didn't find a solution.
    I tried what you suggested for theme 22 to put the following in IR page HTML Header (or in the page template):
    <style type="text/css">
    .apexir_COLUMN_SELECTOR,
    .apexir_SEARCH_COLUMN_DROP,
    .apexir_SEARCH,
    .apexir_SAVED_REPORTS,
    .apexir_SEARCH_BAR_OPTION,
    .apexir_ACTION_MENU {
    float: right;
    }
    </style>

    but it didn't work.

    My probelm is for theme 2 to move the search bar to the right side, and how to move the tabs to be on the right side instead of the left side.

    Best regards.
