I am getting "RMAN-08137: WARNING: archived log not deleted, needed for standby or upstream capture process".
When I checked, found all the archive logs were moved to standby server and backup also done.
Due to this warning archive logs were not deleted and archive destination got filled.
Please let me know why oracle is giving warning "RMAN-08137" even after archive logs were moved and backed up.
Temporarly I am using below command to solve the issue.
"delete noprompt force archivelog until time 'sysdate-480/(24*60)' backed up 1 times to device type sbt;".
(log_archive_dest_2=SERVICE=AB1SB LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR=(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DELAY=480 DB_UNIQUE_NAME=AB1SB).
If the archive has not been applied to the standby you might get this error, its a good thing.
Can you run this query on your primary and post the results?
If you are using Oracle 10 beware of bug 8367313
So you see the issue then.
Transferred is not applied. Fix your apply problem and then you can delete the archive. Its as simple as that.
You have a gap. If you don't fix this soon your standby has no value. Check the alert logs on both the primary and the standby to see what the issue is.
