Thanks to you both for the feeback. I will update this thread again once I get back to it.

Just getting going here and I the first patch I'm going to apply to my Oracle_Home, patch 13705478 extracts to 13734635?

    Patch 13705478: OC4J PATCH FOR CVE-2011-5035

    Via the readme:
+# Bugs Fixed by this patch:+
    +#+
    +# 13734635:MLR ON TOP OF STANDALONE OC4J 10.1.3.4 FOR CPUJAN2012+

I guess it must be the right patch but I don't see anything that says 'this patch has been superseded by 13734635 or anything of that nature.

On a related note my plan is go from oldest to newest when applying the patches. Just looking for confirmation...

+Please see (How to apply OC4J patch (13705478) on RDBMS home [ID 1474666.1]).+

    Thanks,
    Hussein

I am looking to apply an OC4J home patch (12434221) to my Tools Home and I don't have an oc4j directory like I did on the db tier for 13734635.
Now am I forgetting something we already talked about or do I not need to apply OC4J Home patches to my Fusion Middleware homes?
Looks like maybe it doesn't apply to my 10.1.2 OH but rather my Web or OAS 10.1.3 home but still no oc4j directory under $ORACLE_HOME?

If you are referring to Patch 13734635 then it applies to RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME -- Source your database env file and issue "cd $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j".

    For Patch 12434221, it applies to      10.1.2.x $ORACLE_HOME -- https://updates.oracle.com/Orion/Services/download?type=readme&aru=13932292

Hey Hussein, I am referring to Patch 12434221, and I am attempting to apply it to my 10.1.2.x $ORACLE_HOME.

However I thought I needed to use the standalone opatch and export $Oracle_Home to have the oc4j directory on the end for some reason...
At any rate, if I just try and use opatch apply with -jdk and -jre options I get:

Please specify either -jre or -jdk but not both.

ERROR: OPatch failed because of cmd. args. problem.

So I'm assuming my opatch version (OPatch Version: 1.0.0.0.63) is not recent enough or the wrong one?

Updated to 1.0.0.0.64 but same issue. I beleive my syntax is correct.
    ->opatch apply -jdk /app/oracle/ebsxxx/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jdk -jre /app/oracle/ebsxxx/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jdk/jre

Edited by: user6445925 on 14-Feb-2013 12:34 Updated to latest opatch.

Please download the latest OPatch version and check then.
