I was looking at the hisroty of this system and I found following.

Do you think this could be the reason?
          rpm -Uvh --nodeps gcc_old-2.95.3-175.2.i586.rpm

This what I did as per Handling Oracle Application Server 10g Relinking Errors on Redhat and Suse 64-bit Linux (Doc ID 377359.1)

followed instructions from section "GCC Workaround - 1":

              a. Record the file access permission of /usr/bin/gcc
              b. Make a copy of /usr/bin/gcc
              mv /usr/bin/gcc /usr/bin/gcc.save

              c. Create text file: /usr/bin/gcc by adding following one line content to the file
              /usr/bin/gcc.save -m32 $*

              d. Grant same file access permission to /usr/bin/gcc as the original /usr/bin/gcc

              e. Verify gcc and gcc.save files
/usr/bin/gcc.save - This is the original binary
/usr/bin/gcc - This is a text file containing one line

              f. relink your 10.1.2 Oracle Home
              - make sure the APPS environment is set
              - run $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/clone/adlnktools.sh

              g. check /data/rel12/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/lib/libclntsh.so.10.1 now exists

After completing relinking tasks, restore the original gcc binary.

                    Yes.

I have an issues here. I had to uninstall util-linux-2.19.1-6.33.35.1.x86_64 to install linux32-1.0-475.14.x86_64.rpm.
Now I am having some issue with some of the command and not able to invoking Yast and stuff like that.
I want to restore this system back to before we created upgrade driver.
My question is since it installed ebs 12.1.1 with rapidwiz under /data/rel12, why not I backup this directory and restore it back after I bring back system before upgared driver ?
                    Does it work?

I am trying to work with Novell to give me util-linux-2.19.1-6.33.35.1.x86_64 rpm and they are till trying to find it.
I do not want proceed further on this. I want start clean before I apply those merged patches.

Please let me know your thoughts.

                    Thanks

                        Awesome. Thanks Hussein,

after I resotre it back I will have to do is install db1-32bit-1.85-225.22.x86_64.rpm and linux32-1.0-475.14.x86_64.rpm with --- replacefiles option.
                        Then move to gcc4.3.

                        Thanks.

Correct, then you need to proceed with the upgrade.

I found util-linux-2.19.1-6.29.3.x86_64.rpm instead of util-linux-2.19.1-6.33.35.1.x86_64 and I have installed it. I am able to run all the command and invoke yast too.

                            I am proceeding with upgrade.

                                  Thanks Hussein.

                                  I ave started following step.

                                  . Merge this patch (9179588:R12.AD.B) with 9477107:R12.AD.B and R12.AD.B.1
                                  (patch 7461070).
Note: This merge should be a full merge using -admode.

                                  I got the following error.

You need to install cc which is usually under /usr/bin directorty.
